Promiseland is for all children from pre school to year 7.
We meet each Sunday morning during the service(except during family services), approx 11.50 - 12.40. The children divide into 3 age
groups
-
Preschool, Primary 1 and 2 children meet in the Minor Hall
-
Primary 3, 4 and 5 meet in Room 1 upstairs in the Minor Halls
-
Primary 6 and 7 meet in Room 2 upstairs.
This year we are using a new programme, from Scripture Union, which is full of variety and proving popular with the children and leaders alike.
Drama, games and craft are all used on a regular basis to help make learning from the Bible fun and to teach the children about God's love for them.
In this year's programme we are also trying to help the children understand the concept of how the Old and New Testaments relate to each other -
parents be warned, your children might test your knowledge and ask you where in the Old Testament Naaman can be found!
Twice a year, at Christmas and in June, the children take part in a family church service. All children have a chance to participate in one way
or another and we encourage as many children as possible to get involved. The next such service will be the family service on Sunday 18th December. We will prepare for this service on Sunday
4th and 11th December, so do try and bring your children along then.
Please look out for any work sheets, beautiful drawings or personal endeavours that your child brings home from Promiseland each week. We would
encourage all parents to chat to their children about what they have learnt each week. Sometimes they will have a task to carry out, which could be doing something helpful in the home each
day, as they learn how to serve in God's love, or it might be to pray every day for a sick relative, and then tick this off on their daily chart.
The following week, we give the children a chance to report back on how they achieved their task.
'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these'. Mark 10 v 14 NIV
