James has been minister in Ballynure since June 2009. He is married to Karen, and they have four children – Andrew, Hannah, Jonny, and Sarah – as well as two guinea pigs, two rabbits, and a goldfish. It’s a busy household!
Both James and Karen grew up in Bangor, came to faith in Jesus as teenagers, attended First Bangor Presbyterian and spent some years in teaching before following God's leading into ordained ministry.
James’ passion in ministry is for children, young people, and adults to become fully committed followers of Jesus in the whole of their lives (James isn’t the only minister – we all are ministers!). He chairs the management team for the local Scripture Union E3 district worker Terry Kirkpatrick (www.suni.co.uk/e3) and is involved in a Presbyterian Church working group encouraging churches to support Christians in education and in their local schools.
Outside the walls of the church James enjoys supporting Ballyclare Colts Football Club (Andrew plays for them), watching Man Utd, walking the country roads, listening to great music, reading a good book, and chilling out with his family.
